Should I go see an immunologist for my neck/back/shoulder pain?

I am a generally healthy 42 year old woman. I have recurring pain in the left side of my neck, left shoulder, left collarbone, and back. I have swollen glands in my neck and right underarm. A current blood test as well as a blood test done 9 months ago show only one unusual item - an ASO level around 300. The pain started last May when I had some sort of bacterial episode, which included many additional and symtoms like numbness, dizziness and general weakness. I believe it was a bacterial episode because antibiotics made me feel better, and I really felt very ill. My doctor is now referring me to an immunologist. I am skeptical about this being helpful and want to make sure there is actually a possibility that this will be beneficial and appropriate. I was already referred to an allergist and a gastrointestinal specialist. While I was found to have allergies, the allergist indicated that my symptoms were not typical and the prescriptions they gave did not help my symptoms.
